Daniela Véliz is an Associate Professor and Research Director at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) School of Education. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Maine (USA) and a Masters in Student Development in Higher Education from the same university. Her research areas are related to higher education, specifically with the academic profession, internationalization, and student development. She is a researcher of the Millennium Nucleus “Experiences of Students in Higher Education” and an associate researcher of the Center for the Study of Policies and Practices in Education CEPPE-UC. She is currently the principal investigator of the Fondecyt “Institutional strategies to develop research capacities in Chilean universities.” She is one of the founders of the Network of Researchers in Chilean Education – RIECH (www.riech.cl).

Paulina Berrios is a sociologist who has a Master’s in Gender Studies both from Universidad de Chile and holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Policy Studies from the State University of New York. Currently, she is the institutional research director of Universidad de Chile, wherein she oversees data reporting to the Ministry of Education and International Rankings as well as carry out analyzes and studies focused on institutional management. The main research areas of her focus on Chile’s academic profession, female participation and leadership, quality assurance of institutional management, and strategic planning of higher education institutions. She is part of the Advisory Committee of the Faculty Development Directorate of the University of Chile, and along with her work team, she has led the development of a data visualization project based on academic career indicators that have had an incipient but considerable impact on academic and gender policies at the University of Chile.

Andrés Bernasconi is Professor of Education at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. He is interested in higher education policy, university governance, and the academic profession. In his career he has served in administration as Provost, Vice-President for Research and Graduate Programs, Vice-Dean, and Dean, in three universities. He has degrees in Law, Public Policy, and Sociology. He is currently President of Chile´s National Accreditation Agency for higher education.

Sergio Celis is an Assistant Professor in the School of Engineering and Sciences at Universidad de Chile. He conducts research on higher education, with a focus on organizational change, faculty work, and teaching and learning in STEM fields. His primary research interest is in how multiple forces, internal and external to the institution, influence what colleges and universities do. He also serves as university senator and as vice president of the Chilean Society for Engineering Education (SOCHEDI). Sergio received his professional degree in industrial engineering at Universidad de Chile and his Ph.D. in higher education at the University of Michigan.

Pamela Guzmán is a Mathematical Engineer with a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Sydney and a Master’s in Education from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She is a Doctoral Candidate in Education also at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Her current research includes analyzing the impact of inclusive higher education policies targeting disadvantaged students; and studies related to the academic profession. Furthermore, she collaborates as a research assistant for the Academic Profession in the Knowledge-Based Society project for Chile and the Millennium Nucleus project Student Experience in Higher Education in Chile: Expectations and Realities.
